Looks Like I'm Staying!

Hi everyone!

Some of you may have been wondering what my last post was all about, and thanks to Smokey for asking. Well I was a little ashamed to post the details, but now that it looks like everything is under control I can reveal the story.

Last week, and for some unknown reason, I was doing my normal tour into the back room. I always liked going in there and just hanging around. Well I accidentally pooped in there one day instead of heading to my poop hut. Like I said I don't know why I did it, but I did. Well once I did it, it just seemed normal so I did it again. A few times.

Wednesday evening dad was starting some laundry and he smelled the turds. When he found them he was pissed and I thought I was going to be kicked out right then and there. He told me I was acting guilty and I probably was. When mom got home he told her what happened and she said that if it kept up I was gone.

Well the door to the back room was closed to me. Dad watched me like a hawk for a couple of days to see if I'd poop elsewhere, but I was going in the poop hut. Mom took the door off so my tail wouldn't get caught in it.

Finally on Saturday dad saw me in the hut. He evntually let me go in the back room and scout around. I went in and came out without incident. He let me in again yesterday and again, no incident.

So it looks like I am okay now. I was a little mad at dad for locking me out of that room, but once he let me in I warmed up a little.

It looks like all is well now and we can move past this ugly incident and Roo can stay at home!

OMFG!

Friends, I was just sent an anonymous email with a picture reported to be our good friend Pepper. Now I have no way of knowing if it is him for sure, but is sure fits my idea of what he looks like! I'll let you all decide for youselves.

Yikes!

Wow, what a crappy weekend of racing for ol' Roo. I heard dad complaining about his boys as well.

First off at Texas, Vitor was leading late into the race but had to pit and ended up well back. I'm beginning to think Panther Racing needs to hire someone who might actually win. And it was Marco again causing a big crash at the end. If he isn't the biggest menace on the track I don't know who is. He's a DNF waiting to happen. Granted his wreck with Ryan Hunter-Rhey may not have been all of his fault, but he certainly came down awfully low after running a high line through that turn all day. He's just sloppy out there and they seem unwilling to do anything about him.

Meanwhile up in Canada, Lewis apparently didn't see a red light and slammed into the back of Dad's boy Kimi. As soon as it happened I ran under the bed because I knew dad would come looking for me since he knows I'm a Hamilton fan. Hard to shift any blame on that one!

Finally, at Pocono, the Buckeye Bullet was having a nice run and was in to the top 10 when he was busted for speeding on pit lane. The resulting penalty dropped him way back.

It was just an awful weekend for me on the track! Guess we'll just press on and hope things get better in a couple of weeks!

Dumbass Marco!

I didn't get to see it, but dad told me that that idiot Marco Andretti caused another wreck yesterday this time sending Vitor flying and into the wall. When are the powers that be going to open their eyes and park that danger? He's one of the "Golden Boys" so I guess he can be as much of a menace as he wants and nothing will happen. And you know he isn't going to lose his job since he's the team owner's boy.

By the time he gets around to really hurting someone it'll be too late.

Meow!

Hi everyone. Not much today, but I am feeling pretty good after an awesome run by Vitor of Panther Racing last week at the 500! Wow, I really thought he was going to win it. Well it's on to Milwaukee and I think this will be his week.

Other than that I just have a new pic of me. I've had a lot of requests for some new pics of me. In this one I am just tooling through the kitchen and dad snapped the shot. Enjoy!

Snot Noses!

Well it happened. I now have a couple of "nephews" and the snot nosed little brats came over and tried to take over. To top it off I have been chided for not being nice to them. So what, I growled a little. Sue me! This is my house and I will not let it be overrun by some snot nosed little twerps!

Oh and thanks dad and Misses Hiney. Dad was on the floor playing with them and Misses Hiney just hung around. She could have shown some unity, but oh no. Mom doted over them too so I gave her the cold shoulder yesterday morning and got yelled at again.

I guess I'm just yesterday's news. It's all about the new kittens and ol' Roo, who has been a good cat lo these many years is just pushed aside. Well you can have your kittens but just think what you'll be missing. You won't have Rooney to kick around any more.

Proof Sucks!

Well me and Misses Hiney had a couple of weigh-ins last night and as dad is fond of saying, the proof is in the pudding. I guess that means our diets are working. Well dad, the proof sucks and so does being on an involuntary diet!

The good news is that I am down to 13.4 pounds. Dad even said I looked skinny this morning when he was pulling my tail. Of course he also asks me all of the time if I am getting taller so who knows what the F he is saying. Misses Hiney is down to 16.2 pounds and mom and dad are real rpoud of her.

The bad news is that we are still on diets and Misses Hiney just can't get used to it. I see dad measuring our food and he has been serious about us not getting too much to eat. Misses Hiney devours hers and then whines for the next 12 hours until it is time to eat again. I like Misses Hiney, but her whining does get irritating. Oh well, as they say!

Well I guess I am back in fighting shape, but once again, I have no idea who I am fighting!

Love you all!

Happy May!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I've been enjoying a few days off of writing and been pretty much acting a fool and messing with mom and dad! Oh I've been up to all of it. Knocking stuff around, eating Misses Hiney's food, jumping on mom and dad when they're sleeping and a new one, sneaking out into the garage when they open the door just a crack!

That's about all that's new around here. Dad is all agog since May is here. I guess he'll be out at the Speedway as much as possible this month. You know I'll be rooting for Panther Racing!!

That's about it for now. Oh, one last thing, I heard it was Sue's birthday yesterday, so Happy Birthday Sue!!!

Peace and love to all!

Double Lockouts!

I don't know what the hell we did, but all of the sudden we are being locked out of the bedroom twice a day. Once before it is time for dad to get up and then today, after he showered he locked us out when he went back to sleep. Yesterday I went in the bedroom after dad went in there and mom ran me out and locked me out. Look guys, if you don't want me, someone does. My feelings are really hurt right now.

Someone owes Roo an apology and maybe an extra bowl of food for this!

LMAO!!

Last night I pulled a good one, and one of my all time faves! I let mom and dad get to bed and then I made sure dad was fast asleep. Then I got a head of steam up running down the hall and leapt into their bed right on top of dad!

He popped right up and wondered what the heck happened. By then I was out of his reach at the far corner of the bed so he couldn't even swing a pillow at me. I had a hard time getting to sleep I was laughing to my self so much!!

Mama Mia!

Sorry about the water thing this morning mom. It really was an accident. It wasn't like me knocking things over when I'm hungry.

For those of you wondering, I was walking into the bathroom to lay by the register and I knocked mom's opne bottle of water over. Normally I don't think that would be all that bad, but it fell into her purse soaking everything in it. Mom has them fancy schmancy purses too so that makes it worse. But it really was an accident. Unfortunately I'm in the, and God how I hate this, doghouse. Guess I better behave tonight when mom gets home!

Hi There!

Howdy everyone!

Hope everyone is having a great day. Me, I've decided to tough it out and stay here and go to the vets in a couple of weeks. Thanks to my friend Smokey who offered to let me come over. Same to Greg and Amy. Dad just doesn't get it, but he will!!!

I don't really have too much else. I did catch some of a movie the other night called Best In Show. What the F is up with that? A movie about a damn dog show? Dog shows are so lame. If you want real excitement go to your local cat fanciers show.

Well take care. It's been nice weather here the past few days so mom has had some windows open. It's been really nice, except for last night. I had kind of a sour stomach so I just kind of laid around. Dad came in and watched Jeopardy! with me. I heard him tell mom that he kicked my ass at it, but I let him win. He's such a dork!

Later gators!

I'm Out Of Here

It's been some tough days for ol roo. First off, the Tigers lost the big game last night because they can't hit free throws. Dad said it would catch up to them and it did. But mainly, bad days are here because it is truly vet time. Well, I am not going to just sit here and take it.

No, I've decided I hate it so much that I am planning my escape. It's not that I want to leave home, but I just can't handle going to the vet again. On top of shots I have to have a physical this time around. It's going to hurt so much that I have just decided not to go.

So if any of you see a beautiful black cat with his hobo pack strolling down the road, that'll be me heading for greener pastures and ones where there is no vet. As for the blog, I'll catch you up when I get a chance.

Bye for now!

Roo

I'll Earthquake You!

More earthquake's last night eh dad? You are going to get it this time. I was really tired last night after you made me sit with you for about five hours. You know how that stresses me out. Then you pull your earthquake crap while I am trying to sleep.

You better sleep with one eye open tonight because I am going on the offensive and I will get my payback. You close that eye and I'll pounce right on top of you, or maybe I'll bite you while you are sleeping, but revenge will be mine.

There's nothing you can do so you better just be on the lookout!

A New Way!

Faithful readers of this blog know it's been a while since I really had dad on the run, but today I am happy to report that there is a new way and to paraphrase the song, I won't be fooled again!

You all know about me and Misses Hiney being locked out of the bedroom in the mornings before it is time to be fed. We get hungry at 3:30 or 4:00 but dad won't feed us until 5:00. That is when I start my reign of terror. This results in dad getting out of bed, acting like he is going to feed us. Then when me and Hiney head for the kitchen he locks us out of the bedroom. I know I'm a dope for falling for it every day, but that shit is over!

Today I got going about 4:00 and mom told dad to lock me out. When he got up Misses Hiney did her usual move to the kitchen, but not ol' Roo. No sir! I went under the bed and dad locked the door. But as he went back to bed I jingled my collar just a little so he would know I was still in there. He was pissed! So he got back up and went to the kitchen and rattled the food canister. I came running. I didn't get fed, but I made him work harder just for a lockout.

The bottom line is that I can outlast him in a battle of wills and soon I will be fed when I want, not when it is convenient for him. I got you good on this one dad! I told you I'd win this war and now it looks like the end is near!

I Thought Spring Was Here and the NCAA

Is it ever going to stop raining? God this sucks. It has been raining for more than 24 straight hours. Am I in Seattle? It even looks cold out there. I know it rains in the spring, but cold and rain. I even heard dad say it might snow tonight! Winter, I'm over it!

Tomorrow is the start of the big college basketball tournament. Dad is all geeked up about it. Of course, he is a geek! I'm not that big of a basketball fan, but there does seem to be more of a charge in the air this time of year for the sport.

So I was looking at the tournament and filling my brackets out and I noticed there are only 10 cat teams in the damn thing. But what is cool is that the team that is going to win IS a cat team. The Pittsburgh Panthers are the strongest team going in and I can't see how anyone can beat them. Look for the Panthers to beat North Carolina for the whole enchilada. Duke and Kansas will round out your Final Four.

The Indiana teams you ask? Well the Hoosiers (non-cat) will lose their first game. Boilermakers (non-cat) will probably win 2 at the most. Butler (I won't even put their name on here) is a one and done at best and the Fighting Irish (non-cat) might win 2. Pretty sad year for the state. IUPUI got jobbed by not getting in. They are a cat team and would have done the state proud!

There you have it. Now go enjoy the games, if not the weather!

I Am So Sorry!

Dad,
I am so sorry I acted like a baby yesterday. I know I hurt your feelings and I know you are mad at me. I was just feeling a little off and I just wanted to lay around. But I know you like me and just want to hold me and have me sit on your lap. I know you're not going to hurt me. I don't know why I was acting all scared, but I know you were hurt.

You didn't say two words to me this morning, even when I was yelling when you fed me and you didn't pull my tail when I came in your room. You didn't even say bye to me this morning. I'd be hurt by all of this, but I know it is my fault.

I promise that I will try to be less of a wuss. I don't want you mad at me and I hope we can still be friends.

Sincerely,

Rooney

Outrage

I don't do too many serious pieces on here, but today I am just outraged. For those who have not heard some drunk in Muncie forced his kids to kill thier pet cat. "Boots" was stabbed and strangled because this piece of human debris "wanted his kids to learn how to kill."

The complete story can be found here http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080314/LOCAL/803140459

What kind of sick moron, drunk or not, forces his kids to kill anything, let alone a cat. And rest assured that I would be equally outraged if it was any pet. I poke fun at dogs on here because dogs are kind of dumb and they make an easy target, but I would never condone killing a dog in this manner.

Sometimes I wonder how people have even survived on this planet as long as they have the way they act. They war, they kill each other over the littlest things and they basically hate. It's just so sad.

Is That Really Spring?

Roo here!

Man what a day it looks like out there, and even though I'm stuck inside I can lay in the window and soak up all the sun and just bask in the warmth! Hopefully this'll mean I get to at least go out in the garage a little more. On the downside it means that my trip to the vet can't be far off. I heard mom talking about getting the notice last week. That kind of sucks, but hey, who can be mad on a day like this?

Well I'm gonna bop out of here for now and head back to the window. Maybe I'll see my squirell friend and maybe I'll even see mean old Bob across the street and shake my paw at him!!

Peace and love!!

Happy Anniversary!

To me! That's right, the Box Cat, Mr. Pup, Rooney or what have you has been blogging for a year tomorrow. I'm taking the day off in my honor and to think of new ways to drive dad crazy.

I was in a foul mood last week and it kept up through the weekend! I was knocking stuff around, being anti-social and generally being ornery. I loved it! Dad earthquaked me a couple of times and he now knows that he will pay!

Well I really don't have much new for this milestone post, but I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know that I hope you have had as much fun reading this blog as I have had writing it. Dad did say he was proud of me for keeping it going and that most people who start blogs stop posting to them within a couple of weeks.

Well, back to my paper ball box!!! Catch ya soon!

Where the F is Spring?

Really, that's all I got! I'm just sick and tired of this gloomy, crappy, cold weather.

Oh, and dad, stop earthquaking me when you get up to go to the bathroom at night and I am in the chair. If you don't I'm gonna have a special surprise for you!

Can you tell I'm in a shitty mood?

Later,

What A Week I'm Having!

Really, it's not all that great.

Mom and dad are painting Amy's room and it's no longer those cool dark colors. Plus when I go in there I nearly get painted. One good thing is that mom moved the coasts out of the closet and put them on the couch. Now I have a gret new vantage point to sit. Dad was going to make me move, but I was on his 8 coat and I don't think he really cared since it was his driver's old number.

Saturday I was mean again during the day and as such we were fed about 15 minutes late. It kind of sucked but I was having fun knocking stuff to the ground. Yesterday I almost knocked the drill off of the table but dad caught me and yelled at me.

Also, mom and dad tried to sleep in yesterday, but I fixed them. Dad got up and fed us at 5:15. Then he went back to sleep but left their door open. So about 8:00 I headed in there to knock stuff around and basically wake them up. Then I decided to lay right on top of mom until she woke up. That was the end of her sleeping. I think dad had a hangover so he slept a little longer.

All in all it was a pretty good week and weekend for ol' Roo! Today I'm just hanging out waiting for the race to start. Sometimes mom comes home early when the race is on a Monday, but she didn't say anything about it this morning.

That's about it for now. Have a great day!!

Good Morning Race Fans!

Hi, it's me Roo to talk about today's running of the Daytona 500!

First of all it looks like dad's driver is poised to capture his second 500. Junior seems to have the car and the desire to win. That douchebag Stewart also looks strong in the Toyota, but you know I like the Cat car of Dave Blaney for the Toy's.

It looks like a nice day there so anyof you who are there I hope you enjoy it. Mom and dad are heading out to a viewing party so I'll be here in the chair taking in the action!!

So go Buckeye Bullet!!!

Diet

Misses Hiney is on a strict diet again, and since she is, so am I and it sucks.

Look, I know most of my posts are about food or lack thereof, but this really is hitting below the belt. We are down to a strick quarter of a cup of food per meal and even dad is keeping to it. Well it's just not enough so I am back to stealing Misses Hiney's food whe I can. Unfortunately I was caught Sunday morning and dad was pissed. He even game me a bit of a spanking the second time around.

I just don't know what to do. Mom did give us a little Super Bowl treat last night before bed, but it didn't make up for it and I was starving again at 5:00. I gave dad an earful and he took another swing at me. Then I headed down to Misses Hiney's bowl again.

I want to be good, but I just can't. Can anyone help me? Please!

Super Bowl Weekend

Well the big game is almost here. Admittedly I don't have as much interest in it as I might have, had the Jags, Panthers or Lions been in it, but I think it will be a good game. I do think the Patriots will prevail, but I think the game will be fun to watch.

Dad is kind of bummed since his Dolts aren't in, but they pretty much sucked anyway so he had to know he wouldn't be in there.

Well, that's about it for now. We were supposed to have a big snow storm last night and I thought mom and dad may have been able to stay home with me and Misses Hiney today, but alas it didn't do much and they both went to work. Guess it's back to nap time for Roo!

Friday, January 25, 2008

Brrrrrrr!

Is it cold or what? Holy hole in the donut! It's a frigid 2 degrees out there this morning and it doesn't feel a whole lot warmer in the house.

I was so nice and toasty warm this mornign and then mom got up at about 3:00 and locked me out of the bedroom. I thought I was going to freeze my tuckus off!! I just couldn't find a warm place in the house. I went to the vent in Amy's room, but it wasn't very warm. Then I went in front of the love seat and again, it was just cold. Misses Hiney had the recliner so that wasn't an option. I finally went in mom's computer room and curled up on the chair, but I was cold.

When dad got up he even remarked that it was cold. Luckily he turned the heat up a tad and fed me so between burning the fuel and the added degree I felt a little better.

Now that mom and dad are gone I think I'll go curl up in their bed under the covers. They have the flannel sheets and they are so soft and warm! But really, I'd like to see it warm up outside, so the house will be a littel warmer as well!

Love you all!

The Rooney Rule

I was watching the NFL Network this morning and they were talking about Tony Dungy staying on as coach of the Colts and speculating whether or not Mike Holmgren would stay on as coach of the Seahawks. I also heard something about The Rooney Rule. I do like to make up rules, but I don't know what the Rooney Rule is. I don't recall making up any such rule.

I did a search and apparently it has something to do with NFL teams having to consider black cats to be coaches before they can actually hire someone. I think it's a great rule now! Who is better than a black cat to run a football team. We're smart, competititve and level-headed. Dad says I am very stoic and after looking that up I think my even-keeledness can be an asset as well. Not only for me but any black cat.

So for now, I urge any NFL owners to hire black cats to run their teams! They won't be sorry.

I Just Couldn't Watch!

I tried, I really did, but I just couldn't watch the second half of the game Saturday night. I had to turn away. I even tried levaing the room several times, but dad kept bringing me back in. He said it would build character!

The Jags suck and I hate football right now!!!

All Quiet On the Mitchner Front!

Whew!

It looks like I have dodged yet another bullet! I was worried last night that when dad got home he would still be mad at me. Especially after reading his comment on this blog. But other than a couple of fingers and an evil glare he was fine. In fact he and I made a pact this morning that if I root for his Colts on Sunday he will root for the Jags on Saturday. It's not much for him since he hates the Pats a lot, but it's a start. Plus, you know how weevilish I am, I might just renege on it when Sunday rolls around!!

Just kidding dad!

Well anyway, I do think my Jaguars will win against the Patriots. I also think his Colts will win, but it will be a claw biter. In the NFC I like the Cowboys to finally cut the Giants down to size and the Packers to beat the Seahawks. Just like last week I'll be tuned in for all of the action. Below you can see me watching last weeks beatdown of the Steelers....

Have a great weekend and enjoy the games!!

Love you all!

Uh-oh!

Hi gang;

Well I may have really cooked my goose this morning. I was oh so hungry at 3:00 that I thought I would die if I didn’t eat. I think mom gave us less food last night since Misses Hiney is on a diet again. But I guess I have to join her. Well it was just too much and I had to have food. Stat!

Well dad has been a bit under the weather the past few days and he has been sleeping in the living room chair. I was asleep in mom and dad’s room when the hunger pangs started. I tried to behave but I just couldn’t. I swear I’m trying to be a better cat, but old habits are hard to break!

Well I went in to the living room and jumped up on the end table, which I know is a no-no. It was about 3:00. Dad woke up and shooed me down and promptly went back to sleep. Well I was dying. So a little while later I jumped back up there and when dad didn’t wake up I knocked over the silver picture frame that sits on the silver platter and it made a terrible racket. Dad woke up then and swung a pillow at me and cussed me. Then he looked like he was going to go back to sleep so I went back up on the end table. He cussed me again and got up and fed me.

That is the good news. The bad news is that dad is really mad at me this morning and now we have to wait even longer to eat today. I’m sorry about doing it, but I was so hungry. But I am going to have to make it up to dad. I don’t want him mad at me. I know he loves me, but still, I don’t want the cold shoulder treatment I have been getting this morning.

I guess I will have to be on special good behavior for a while till the storm blows over. Wish me luck!

Football Season Recap

Ugh! That's about all I can say about the season.

What started as a season with so much promise only yielded one cat team into the playoffs. The Lions and Panthers really sucked the second half of the season and only the Jaguars are in. It really tweaks my melon what happened.

Well at least there is one team to root for. Dad can kiss my backend if he thinks I will root for those damn Colts.

As for other things it was a pretty quiet New Years around the house. Amy is gone so that makes things a little quieter. Dad cut his hair in her room on Sunday and made a mess. I hung out in there a little, but it is kind of cold so I have been more in the other part of the house.

I did help dad with cleaning his room on Saturday and Sunday. What a mess, but we got through it. You should see how many paperballs I have now. If the box gets knocked over mom will kill me!

Well I hope you are all getting along fine here in the new year. It's really cold here so I better hop back into bed and curl up and stay warm.

Love you all!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone,

Okay, it’s still a few days off but Happy anyway! Hope everyone had a super Christmas. I didn’t really get anything I wanted except the paper balls. Dad said I have just been too naughty. But then last night he really surprised me by giving me a milk ring tied to a piece of string! It is one of my favorite things to play with ever!

My New Year’s resolution is to be a nicer cat. I know I’m a little mean so I am going to strive to be better and maybe I won’t have to worry about getting nada for Christmas next year or at least not get locked out every day. So far, since Christmas it has happened every day.

Btu enough about what I didn’t get! We did get UVerse at home over the weekend. I really like the picture quality and we can watch all of our stations in all four rooms now! The downside is that I still don’t see a Cat channel.

Dad is all agog because when he first turned it on the Flintstones were on. Now I didn’t know what the hell that was, but on Sunday he had me watch an episode with him and now I at least know where “Yabba-Dabba-Doo” comes from. I still don’t know what it has to do with me though.

Nothing much else is new here. Mom and dad took the Christmas tree down yesterday so my bunker is gone, but at least I can get back in the window without any hassle now.

Tomorrow is Amy’s big day. She’s moving out, but I suspect she’ll be back over to see me. I asked dad and he said I probably did not have to move out when I get older since that doesn’t really apply to cats. I’m probably going to be sad over the weekend when she is gone those first few days, but I’m really happy for her!

Well I better run, the Hillbillies are coming on!

Love and peace!!

Roo

NOT A December to Remember!

Hi everyone,

Just a few short days until Christmas! Hope you are all ready out there and can relax this weekend before the big days! Me, I've been laying around under the tree a lot. One day dad did catch me gnawing on a branch, but it has been rare. I only did it that time and once before. Of course he doesn't believe me!

Then this morning I thought he was going to play ball with me and he didn't. I showed him by heading in to the kitchen and promptly knocked a tin of cookies to the floor. He was pissed and called me a jerk cat. I didn't really care until he told me that I had been so naughty over the year that even if I had been nice this morning and for the next few days I couldn't make up for it. Now I'm afraid I won't even get my paper balls let alone my new butt!

Then, Amy gave me a box to get in, which you know how much I love to sit in boxes as I am the Box Cat!, and someone put about a million hangers in it. How the hell am I supposed to sit in it like that? I'm not beign naughty just to be mean. You have to cut me some slack as I am a cat.

And the capper was this week as Fred Taylor was wrongly passed over for the Pro Bowl. That stupid, buster Joseph Addai (The Mayor as dad calls him) made it and he has sucked this year. I think I'm going to quit watching football if it is always so wrong!

Well I guess I'm done venting for now. I hate to get all worked up so close to Christmas, but I can't help it. Maybe I'll go in there and put on some Christmas music and chill.

Oh, and one last thing. Amy told us last night that she is moving on December 28. I suppose that means I will be sleeping with mom and dad more. I hope I can be good so I don't get locked out. Actually Misses Hiney is the one who keeps getting me in trouble. She is trying to eat everything in sight and even chewing in to bags. She better knock it off or there will be trouble!

Merry Christmas to all!!!

December Football

Hi gang,
Well, things are definitely looking bad for my cat teams in the NFL. Oh sure, the Jaguars are doing pretty well, but they still can't beat those damn Colts!

In Detroit the Lions predicted 10 wins, but it looks like they might win 7 max as they have dropped 5 in a row. As for the Panthers, well they suck ouot loud and will not be going to the playoffs.

Around here, dad is all giddy about the Colts chances. He even has a new hat for the occasion. He's such a d-bag!

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas. Just a few short days until the big day is here. I pretty much get the house to myself for a couple of days then i hope mom and dad are going to Las Vegas again this year, but I haven't heard any talk of it!

For those of you who may not have heard, my sister Amy is moving out at the end of the month. I'll miss her but I know she is really anxious to get her own place so I'm glad for her. I don't know if I have to move out when I get older or not. Since I'm a cat, I might be able to stay here!

Love to all!

Seasons Greeting From Roo!

Meow everyone and a very Merry Christmas season to all of you!

Yes, it’s the holiday season again and I hope all of you remember the true meaning of the holidays, especially Christmas! Even if you celebrate Hanukah or Kwanzaa or even a Festivus for the Rest of Us keep your family and friends in mind and keep thoughts of those less fortunate in your mind as well.

Too many times we get caught up in the giving and getting at this time of year and we forget the real meaning of the time. I know it’s easy to do, but try! Heck, even I get a little giddy when mom or Amy puts the Christmas tree up. This year I have been hanging out under the tree quite a bit. Dad thinks I am up to something weevilish, but I really am just enjoying the tree.

Well that’s about it for now. And for those of you who are intent on making the holiday a commercial and/or giving success, here is a short list of things you can get me! Love you all!

Rooney

  1. Food. Something good, not the same old morsels I get now. Maybe some turkey.
  2. Nip. Even though dad doesn’t like me doing it.
  3. A new butt. Mine has a crack in it.
  4. Some Figgie pudding. Not sure what it is, but it’s in a song.
  5. No lockouts for the 12 Days of Christmas.
  6. World peace!
  7. A camera so I can catch dad doing things he doesn’t want on the Internet.
  8. A Carolina Panther jersey. Large in cat size.
  9. Paper balls. So many it drives mom crazy!
  10. Tickets to the cat fancier show.
  11. An IUPUI Jaguar T-shirt. Again, cat size large.
  12. An autographed picture of Michael Vick.

Why No Cats?

Dad is fond of saying it's either mine or something named Tom Klene's world and everyone else is just living in it. He says it would be awful if me and Tom ever met. I don't know what kind of cat Tom is but if we would clash I bet I would win. But I digress. If it is in fact my world then I have some questions!

Last night I was watching Dancing With The Stars with mom and dad. While some chick was dancing the somba I was doing my own version. I have to tell you, I was pretty damn good. I've got the rhythm and the footwork that puts those people to shame. I am also better looking and I even do my own makeup and hair. The next thing I know, mom is heading in to her computer room to vote for some guy named Julio. After the show dad voted for him as well.

So this morning I was getting on the computer to vote and I wanted to vote for myself. Unfortunately when I logged on to abc.com I was only given the choices of Helio?, Marie or Mel. Why couldn'd I vote for myself. I was just as good! Then dad explained to me that only those in the competition were eligible to receive votes. I told him that sucked and asked why. He just said that was the way it was and there was nothing I could do about it. Nothing I could do I cried! I thought it was my world!

Well I voted for Helio, not sure who mom actually voted for as there was no Julio. Then I told dad I wanted to be on the show next year. His answer was that I couldn't because it was Dancing With The Stars and not Dancing With The Average House Cat. Average!? How can I be average if it's my world? Then he told me that even if I was as famous as Morris (the Cat) I probably wouldn't get on because they don't have cats on the show. I find that patently unfair and something that needs to be changed.

So starting today I am getting up a campaign to get cats not only on Dancing With The Stars, but on many more programs and movies. Who's with me?! We'll take it all the way to Hollywood and we will be heard. Leave your name on the comment board and I will be getting a newsletter together and send it out to you all and we can win this battle and get the recognition we deserve!

Meow!

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since I posted anything and honestly I don't have much today either. Football season is going so-so for me and my cat teams. Dad is all bummed out about the Colts but I think it's funny that they suck! He sure has been taken down a peg. He's even given up his morning charade of waiting until after his shower to feed me in the morning. Still though, I give him so much mouth. After I eat I just laugh at him. He's such a pushover.

Anyway, things are going pretty well here. I've been kind of lazy as the weather has turned very fall-like. This is really a downer part of the year. Even the rustling of the leaves doesn't seem to be moving me this year. Usually I will sit in the window and watch them blow around and imagine being out there with them, rolling around and having a ball. this year I just feel sad for the approaching winter.

Well I'm going to get out of here for now. I hope next week's holiday finds me in a better mood. I'm going to try and snag some turkey and the trimings and have a nice time. I'll probably have the house to myself that day so that'll be nice!

Meow and out!

Happy Halloween

I know I'm a day late, but I wanted to pop in and say hi! You know it was my big day yesterday so I was doing some partying and the like. We had lots of trick-or-treaters last night, but no one dressed up like a black cat or even a lion. Kids aren't very creative any more I guess. All in all it was a pretty good day. That's about all I have right now.
Me and Misses Hiney are getting locked out just about every day any more. It is kind of hurting my feelings, but I will muddle through. And since you do most of the locking dad, GO PATRIOTS!

Football Suckery!

You know, I am really starting to get a case of the red ass about the damn Colts. Last week they beat up on my Jaguars and yesterday they slapped my Panthers around. At least the Jags got back to winning yesterday and the Lions beat the Bears. Of course, beating the Bears isn't exactly a ringing endorsement of how good a team is.

As we reach the middle of the season the Lions and Jaguars are a respectable 5-2. Of course it really hurts that the Colts are unbeaten and have disposed of the Jaguars. Dad keeps laughing at me and telling me the coach of the Jaguars is a boob. The Lions are definitely better than in previous seasons. The Panthers started off well yesterday, but then they sucked. They are 4-3 and leading their division, but that is like being the chess champion of Columbus, OH! They will probably screw it up somehow and miss the playoffs.

Dad is all geeked up since his team plays the cheater team this week. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts aren't caught cheating as well. There is no way they could have beaten two cat teams in a row!

Those Damn Colts!

Well dad is all happy but I am pissed off about last nights game. Colts 29, my Jaguars 7. 7 freaking points! And the bitch of it all is that this week the damn Colts play my Panthers. Dad will probably be giving me an earful next Monday as well. I’m going to get him for this! Go Panthers!

Mornin' Dad!

Hee-hee-hee! I got dad on the run again! You all heard about him getting up to take his shower and waiting until he is finished to feed us. Well I have been so weevilish lately that he may have to rethink his position!

Now, along with an earful he gets to babysit me while I am eating. Why you ask? Well of course it is because I wait until he is back in bed and go eat Misses Hiney’s food. I know, I know, it’s old, but hey I find something that works for me and I stick with it!

So now, after he feeds us he has to wait to go back to bed until Misses Hiney is done eating. He stands in the shadows like I can’t see him. I’m a cat for God’s sake. I can see in the dark! But if he goes back in the bathroom or steps away I am already gone to her bowl. He seems resigned to the fact that I just can’t be trusted and he has to watch me every second I love it!

Me v. Misses Hiney

And as usual, I lose! Dad keeps telling me that Misses Hiney can kick my ass, but every once in a while I have to try. He just laughs at me and tells me it reminds him of Scott and Schubach back in the day, whatever the hell that means. Thanks to dad and his camera we have some shots of the action:

Here is Misses Hiney relaxing in her favorite spot.

Here I am contemplating taking a shot at Misses Hiney.

Here I am after getting all jacked up on caffeine.
Dad Said I looked like Pete Townshend in the Eminence Front video.
Again, I have no idea what the hell that means.

Me taking a shot at Misses Hiney and her clobbering me.

Misses Hiney finishing me off.

Your humbled host. Vanquished just like dad said
I'd be. One of these days I'll get her. When dad
said I was getting in fighting trim I don't think
he meant me fighting Misses Hiney.

I was banished to the other room where I assumed my Colts Cheerleader pose.

Rainy Days or More Accurate, Fall Sucks!

There is one thing me and dad agree on, the only good thing about Autumn is football. Other than that it signals the end of Summer, is a prelude to winter and the weather generally sucks out loud!
This morning I was sitting in the window and it was pouring down rain. I got so depressed I just went back to bed. Now a rainy day doesn't usually get me down, but as we round into Fall I know we are in for many more days like these. Summer just seemed to go so fast.
Well I was hoping that by writing this maybe the rain would go away, but as I just checked it was raining CATS and dogs.
I guess I'll head back into bed and wait until mom gets home to feed me and see if my mood has improved.
Buh-bye!

Week 3

Hi all and welcome to my Monday morning wrap up of the cat teams in the NFL. Well it may have been expected, but the way it happened scares me. The Lions took a beatdown at the hands of the Eagles. I guess in this case the brid was more powerful. The Lions scored points, just not enough as the Eagles scored a lot.

The other cats did much better. In Denver my Jaguars beat the Bronco's. A nice win in what is a pretty tough place to play. Go Jags!

In Atlanta the Panthers beat the lowly Falcons. The Falcons are suffering because of Michael Vick's absence. I'm sure, he was only dog fighting. Dogs are stupid anyway! Cat's rule the earth and in Atlanta yesterday, cats ruled birds as well!

Well that's it for football. Nothing new going on with me. I did get some treats over the weekend so I'm pretty happy. I also got fed three times on Saturday. I rock!

Love to all!

TGIF

Hi everyone and a big Happy Friday to all you working folk out there. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful weekend for this, the first weekend of Autumn. I'd really like to go out in the yard and play a little, but mom and dad don't let me go out since I have had my front claws removed. I guess that is good because it scares me to even think how mean I'd be if I had them!
Nah, I'll probably just be hanging out in the window or on one of dads shirts on his dresser. Maybe I'll get some treats if I am nice or even some catnip (although dad does not like me doing the nip).
Speaking of dad, I really gave him and earful this morning. You know, he gets up at 5 or just before and then instead of feeding me he takes a shower and then feeds me. Why doesn't he just make things easier for everyone and just feed me first? He thinks he's such a badass about feeding me, but I know he's a pushover in the long run.
Well I'm going to get out of here for now and take a little catnap, perhaps in my box. Have a great day and enjoy your weekend!

Sorry!

Dad's pretty pissed at me for calling him retarded and has sworn vengeance. Well he can bark all day long and I know he won't bite. He is full of hot air it's a wonder he doesn't explode. I will step up my campaign for more food and I wil be keeping the pressure on that bonehead.
Love you dad!

My Cat's

As you can tell I am somewhat of a football fan. Not college so much but the Cat teams in the NFL. So how are my guys doing after a couple of weeks? Just so-so, but it is early.

Let's start with the Lions. Wow! 2-0 start has to be encouraging. They beat the hated Raiders and the wimpy Vikings. Sure it's not much to brag about, but it doesn't suck.

That Jaguars got off to a rocky start against the stupid Titans but bounced back against a crappy Falcon team. Just goes to show you that in cat v. bird games the bird just can't win.

The Panthers are 1-1, but on top of their POS division. They beat the Rams in St. Louis last week but lost at home to the Texans this week. Looks like cats beat almost any animal except man.

That's about it for now. I am getting hungry and I know it is a long time until I get fed so I better lay down before I get dizzy.

Love you all!

Yabba Dabba Doo?

Alright, dad has been walking around the house singing "Yabba dabba doo and puparoo-roo too" or "Yabba dabba doo and puparoo-roo-roo" (Mom started the Puparoo-roo-roo thing). What the hell is Yabba dabba doo? What does it have to do with me?

On top of that he was watching Jawbreaker the other day (excellent movie with the delightful Juli Benz) and now he has been singing "Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to Roo, if he is young at heart".

I swear dad is so retarded some times.

They're Back!

Mom and dad got home late last night or I guess early this morning. They rolled in about 3:30am and as usual I was there ready to be fed and then to give them the cold shoulder for leaving me behind. And not only did they leave me behind and only having me fed once a day, they had some guy come in and work on the bathroom floor. He was banging around in there and scaring the living daylights out of me and Misses Hiney (You can't stop me Suzi!).

I am already plotting what I am going to do next time they leave, and they will I am sure. If any of you kind readers have any ideas for me, please pass them on. This is going to get ugly.

More NFL

Hi gang,
Well the preseason is over and it is time for some real football! My teams finished the preseason with a mixed bag of results. The Panthers were a sorry 1-3, the Lions an ecouraging 2-2 (a beatdown at the hands of the Colts notwithstanding) and the Jaguars were a nice 3-1. Are these numbers an indication of the season to come for these wonderful cat teams? Who knows, but I have some thoughts.

The poor Lions have been so bad for so long that it seems only fair that they would have to improve. They are in a crappy division with the stinky Bears, Packers and Vikings so they may have a legit shot at the title. Of course they must be awfully managed to have been as bad as they have been over the years, but hopefully they will begin to see the light with some new players.

The Panthers are only a few years removed from the Super Bowl but have been pretty mediocre since their appearance. This season is an enigma going in. Sure they have Steve Smith the outstanding wideout but little else unless Jake Delhomme comes to play. Again, they are in a crap division so anything can happen.

I am taking a lot of flack around the house for liking the Jaguars, but I can't help it. I'm pretty sure they will be able to beat the Colts this year for the division and that will probably get me in more hot water. Dad calls their QB Gary Coleman. I don't know what that means, but it probably isn't good. He's just jealous of a great team.

Finally some other cats have asked why I am not a Bengals fan. Well quite simply they are just a bunch of losers and thugs and even I can't stand that Chad Johnson. Sure they may be a great offensive team, but to me, they are just offensive period.

Gotta run. I'll check back in after a couple of games and see how the Cat's are doing!

Peace all!

Vacation, but not for Roo-Roo!

Well mom and dad are off to Florida tonight. Me and Misses Hiney are going to tough it out here at the house I guess. Mom's friend Ginny is heading over to feed us. Now I like Ginny and all, btu she only comes over once a day and feeds us and I don't think she really likes me anyway. I get oh so hungy having to wait 24 hours between feedings. Misses Hiney has it even worse since she is such a piglet and since I steal her food. I was hoping the "All-Roo-Can-Eat" buffet would be in place while they are gone, but I heard mom say she couldn't trust me. I am so sure, I am a good cat and am not mean or evil.

Since they are leaving me behind while they have fun in the sun I hope they have a flat tire on the way. I guess maybe I am a little mean!

Box Cat

No, not the Box Jellyfish, but me, the Box Cat! I know you cats out there have some strange habits. Mine are well documented such as the knocking over of cups when I am hungry. But another of my favorite things to do is to find a nice cardboard box and curl up in it. Above I am sitting pretty in an old Avon box getting ready to settle in for a little cat nap.

Sitting in a box may not be every cat's idea of heaven, but you all should try it some time. If you find the right box, and these Avon boxes or paper boxes are purr-fect for me, you feel so safe and snug in them.

Gotta run for now. Have a great day and go out and find that box!

The NFL (No, not the National Feline League!)

Hi all,

Well it's August and I am feeling a little better thank you very much! The end of summer may well be upon us, but one thing that means is that football season is right around the corner. It's hard not to jump on the Colts bandwagon what with all of the excitement over their big win in the Super Bowl, but frankly, horses are big and thye scare me a little.

So who do I like for the 2007-08 season? Let's take a look see. Mind you, these are pre-preseason picks and as the next few weeks go by, I am sure there will me some adjustments to be made.

There are three teams that really intrigue me this year. The Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars and the the Detroit Lions. The Panthers were in the big show just a few short years ago and with their talent I see no reason they can't return this season. The Jaguars have been knocking on the door for a few years now and they look poised to pounce on that division championship and ride on in to the post season. The Lions may not be the "sexy" pick, but this young team has been retooling and is ready to make a move in footballs worst division.

So keep an eye out for these teams and I'll report back in after a couple of preseason games.

Peace!

Summer Days

I know we're technically only about halfway through the summer but end of July fells like Summer is just about over. Soon the kids will be boarding their school busses and the neighborhood will be quiet all day long again. The days are already noticeably shorter, light ways anyway, and soon the leaves will be turning and fall will be here.

I'll miss the summer. It's almost too hot to lay in the window in the mornings, but it is so nice in the afternoon. Mom has the house the temperature of a meat locker so I can curl up anywhere and still be comfortable. Sometimes in the winter it is too warm in the house.

Pretty soon football will replace the pool parties mom and dad go to. Racing season will wind down and before you know it, basketball will be here. I'm not really a fan, but I do like the Charlotte Bobcats. Come to think of it, I like their football team as well!

Well, that's all I have today. I'm always a little blue this time of the year, but I'll snap out of it in a day or so.

Peace and love to all!

Brickyard

Well my Indy 500 predictions were fo shizzle, but this is Brickyard week, well Allstate 400 @ the Brickyard week anyway, Who's gonna take the checkers you ask. Well ol' Roo is here to tell you!

I like the Toyota of Dave Blaney. The Buckeye Bullet has really been the only competitive Toy all year and I think this track just begs for their setup!

It's early in the week but keep an eye on the Cat car and Dave Blaney!

More closer to race day!

Summer Time!

Meow All!

Hope everyone's summer is going great. I know mine has gone pretty well for the most part. Actually, my only complaint, as usual, is about food. Rest assured that when I am fed I give whoever is doing the feeding an earful, especially if it is dad!

Speaking of dad, he has apparently found something better to do during the day as he has not been home much lately. In some ways that is nice. He doesn't hassle me or come looking for me when I am getting my beauty sleep (like I really need it). But in some ways it's sad that he doesn't do those things and sing to me and talk to me. He has been trying to make it up to me by having me sit on his lap in the evenings, but I am way to independent for that.

He gets mad when I get all tense and try to leave, but it's not a refelction on him, I just like to do my own thing.

Well that is about it for now. Next week is the Brickyard and there is a Cat car. I will find out who is driving it and post something next week on it.
Peace and love to all!

Same Ol' Same Ol'

I guess me and Misses Hiney have been a little aggressive wanting food the past couple of mornings. We have been locked out both days and without food. I'm sorry but I just can not wait until 6:00 to get fed. I AM HUNGRY AT 4:00 damnit!
Dad tried to explain to me that I am so hungry because I eat at 4:00 in the afternoon that it is a long 14 hours until 6:00 in the morning and that I shouldn't cmplain because it is only 10 hours in the day between feedings. Well he can talk all he wants, but the bottom line is I need fed earlier. My main fear is that he will see this and afternoon feedings will move to 6:00 to make them more uniform. If he does that he will be in for a rude awakening!

Happy Fourth of July One and All!

Hi everyone! I was planning on taking a little time off this week for some much needed R & R so I wanted to pop in and wish you all a very happy Fourth of July.
It may be more of a party day to most of us, but it's real meaning has a lot to do with our freedoms which we all probably take a little too much for granted. I mean, where else but in America can a cat have his own website.
As I sit here typing this I am reminded of how many people have suffered and died for our freedoms and while I am completely against this ridiculous war that we have going on, I am still proud of all of the Americans who are giving with their all to do their duty. It's not that I want terror mind you, it's just that the idiot President has no clue as to what he is doing and this war is about oil and revenge, period. If it wasn't it would be over by now because we would have fought to win instead of doggy-footing around over there.
Anyway that is my opinion so take it for what it is worth. But remember those who have given so much so that we may each have and express our opinions without recrimination or fear.
Happy Fourth of July everyone!

The Red Ass

You know what really gives me the red ass? It's when we get fed early one day or at one feeding and then we are expected just to fall into line the next day or feeding. Example; Saturday morning we were fed at the normal time of around 6:00 am. Amy then fed us at 1:00 pm since mom and dad were gone swimming. Well when 2:00 am rolled around we were starving but did we get fed? Hell no (sorry about the cursing, but it irks me). We did get fed about 5:00 but then we were hungry way before our normal 4:00 o'clock feeding so I got ornery and started knocking my bowl to the ground and apparently I incurred a 15 minute penalty. 5 minutes for each infraction. Mom and dad were leaving before 4:00 so we did get fed early, but dad is saying the penalty roll over until today. We'll see about that.
Im sorry, but it just really pisses me off that they think they can play with our feeding times and then be mad when we run amok at night.

The State of Television

You know, as a cat my life is pretty much centered around the house. I like to sleep in the front window sill or in bed most of the day, but at times I like to watch a little television and I can tell you, for the most parts, there ain't shit on!
I mean, we have like a million channels, including Animal Planet and TV Land but there just usually isn't anything worth watching. Animal Planet is in love with flippin' monkeys and fish so it's hardly worth watching. Lucy and MASH seem to dominate TV Land and there just aren't any good movies anymore it doesn't seem. Dad has me hooked on the old classics, but unless they are on TMC they aren't worth watching. AMC has more commercials than a NASCAR race!
When are they going to put the Cat Channel on?

Roo Lectures On Laundry

Meow everyone!

Today I'd like to talk to you a little bit about "the laundry". I know, I know it's not everyone's favorite subject, but it is all something we can relate to. Above you can see me pictured on top of a freshly done load of clothes feeling pretty good about myself for getting them done. Now of course those aren't all my clothes as I am a cat and usually just wear my fur coat.

Anyway, I have been doing some studies on the best detergents as well as the accoutrements that go with doing laundry and have come up with what I think is your best bet for getting your clothes their cleanest without doing damage to the fabrics you have probably invested so much in.

In my estimation Tide Detergents are the best with their Mountain Spring being my favorite. They come out cleaner than other detergents and always have that fresh Tide aroma. As for fabric softeners I have to go with Downey's Ultra Downey in any fragrance. I find it much less stressful on your clothes than their dryer sheets. I also reccomend the Downy ball which somehow knows just when to release the softener. If you are lazy like me you usually will miss the rinse cycle and have to run it again. With the Downey ball you drop it in at the beginning of the wash cycle and you are good to go. If you would like more information about these products click on the links pictures below:

Of course, beign a cat doesn't allow me much opportunity to bring you these consumer reports, but I hope you will find them useful!

Have a great day and go get that laundry started!

Lazy Days

Hi everyone!
It's been nice having mom, dad and Amy home. I acted a little put out when they got in, but I warmed up quickly. Nothing really new going on here, jut wanted to pop in and say hey!
I've been trying to be good, but I did get in trouble once last week for peeing on the floor. I didn't even do it, but I guess I looked guilty so I got blamed. besides, they put some cheapo lining in the box and it's easy to miss.
Well that's about it for now. All of this typing has made me dizzy so I better go back in the window sill and rest up.
Peace to all!

Dolts!

Who do they think they are kidding? I mean come on, you can not expect me to be good when you just leave the temptations sitting right out in front of me! Mom pulled a good one. She had her friend Ginny come over and feed us. Well she only came over once a day and not at all on Thursday. We were fed before mom and dad left but it wasn't enough.
Mom however left the food canister on the counter where I could get to it. I knew it was there before they left, but I figurd they'd move it based on my track record of late. But I hopped up there Saturday morning and lo and behold, the canister was not only there, but the lid fell right off when I nosed it. Needless to say I helped myself to an "all Roo can eat buffet" of Meow Mix! My belly feels like it is going to pop. Mom and dad will be mad at me when they get home but who cares! I am loving it! I can't believe they trusted me!
