Sad Day

It’s a bittersweet day for ol Roo. Dad just told me that Misses Hiney is going away and she is not coming back. Normally I would welcome such news, but Misses Hiney has been sick so I am just sad that she is leaving and not staying here to get well.

Dad explained that she has been sick for a while and that is why she is so skinny these days, yet she eats like there is no tomorrow. He says she has some internal problems that make her so hungry and thirsty that she is probably hurting and he says it isn’t right to make her suffer.

Dad is pretty bummed too. I know I am his favorite but he doesn’t want to see her sick and suffering. I guess I better be good for the rest of today because he and mom are not going to be in a real happy mood.

Well, that is all I have for today. I’ll check back in after a few days and let you know how things are going.

Peace out!

Happy Black Cat History Month!

That's right folks it's black cat history month. At least that is what I heard on TV the other day. You know how proud I am to be a black cat and the long and rich history of my ilk makes me even prouder. So if you see a black cat this month, take the time to say "thanks" for all the contributions they have made to this world.

Well my Super Bowl pick turned out to be a burgled turd didn't it? Honestly I think that they would have won had they worn their black uniforms. Not sure why they didn't but that, more than anything else, cost them.

Race season is upon us with this weeks running of the Daytona 500. Those of you who follow this blog know I am more of an open wheel fan because of Panther Racing, but I will be watching Sunday with mom and dad. I heard dad whining about someone named Kurt Busch possibly winning. I guess he must be the favorite the way dad was complaining.

Not much else to report. I'm still playing with my string. Dad's computer room is still neat and tidy and he has given me a chair to sit in when I'm in there. I liked it better when it was messy as I could scout around and find interesting things.

I did have a job for a couple of hours a couple of weeks ago. Mom and dad had some water dripping in when the ice was melting on the roof. Dad had a system set up to catch the water and I was in charge of the system. He was calling me his project manager. Sadly though I screwed up and fell asleep on the job and the system failed and a mess was made. I was promptly terminated and reminded that I was a Top 10 all time worst cat. I'm pretty sure I'm not, but dad keeps saying it.

Speaking of dad, he goes bowling every Thursday night and comes home late. He apparently doesn't have to be at work until after 8 on Friday so after mom leaves for work he sets and alarm and goes back to sleep, or should I say, he tries!! The past couple of weeks i have decided he needs to be up and at 'em earlier than he wants. So to make sure he isn't late to work I go "wake him up". He-he! I jump into bed and stand on him or walk on him until he wakes up. When he stirs I run to the corner of the bed where he can't get me. I think it really messes with his head and he has sworn vengeance. But I ain't scared. He's all talk as usual!!

Well, I'm going to pop out of here for now. Hope all of you are enjoying this warm weather. I like the cooler weather myself since I have this cat suit on all of the time, but it's still pretty nice as it's not too hot.

Have a great day!

Peace and love to all!

Happy Winter!

I heard dad bellyaching about some incoming weather so I know it must be getting ready to be bad out. I'd complain but really I love it! For one thing Puparoo doesn't have to go out in the weather and for another, if it's really bad then mom and dad will be staying home from work. Don't tell them, but secretly I like it when they are around!

Lately I've been playing with "the string". It's some stretchy cloth cord dad likes to dangle in front of me and then I grab it and chew on it. Dad will run down the hall with it and I chase it down. We've been playing for a couple of weeks now, since dad found it when he was cleaning out his computer room. He and I found all kind of fund things in there. It took him almost a whole week to get it done. It's nice to go in there now, but Roo can't really get in any trouble in there now that it is all neat:(

Other than that nothing much else is new. I'm just about at my year anniversary of being sick and honestly I feel great.

Well I'm going to pop out of here for now. By the way, for the Super Bowl I like the Steelers to beat the Packers. I don't really have a rooting interest in it, but I like the Steelers experience in this game. I do think it will be a good one though!

A New Video From America's Cat!

Hi fans!

Roo here with something I am sure you will love this holiday season. Yes, it's the first video of your fave feline. Sure I'm just getting a drink, but look how cool I am drinking out of the vase near my food bowl. I hope you all enjoy and I'll talk to you soon!!

Fall Days

Hi Gang,
Puparoo here! I know it's been a long time, but dad hasn't really had his computer on much lately so Roo hasn't had any opportunities to post. But I'm here today.

Let's get it going!!

First football. Well my cat teams are pretty pathetic this year. The Lions are their usual soft selves, the Jaguars looked good in a win over the stupid Colts, but have regressed since and the Panthers are a huge disappointment. Overall it is just a bad season so far for the Pup's teams. At least the Colts suck too, even though I feel bad for mom, not dad, because their favorite player is out for the season.

On a happier note, how about the weather we've been having. It's Roo's favorite time of the year anyway, but it's been warm and windy and I love it even if I'm not outside! Yesterday when dad was home at lunch the wind was blowing the leaves all over the place and I was just mesmerized by them. I really wanted to go out but dad said no. Big meanie! He did let me out in the garage where I promptly made cat paw prints all over his car.

Let's see, anything else going on? Not really. I've been getting plenty to eat. I have a new food, which I like and it seems to pack more density per morsel and it's making me a little fat. But that's okay. Misses Hiney has had to submit to a few baths lately, but Roo has avoided most of them. Dad has been scratching my back by my tail and it tickles so I've been gnawing the hair off back there and I look kind of silly. Dad was calling me the BBC or some such crap. I think it meant bald back cat. I hopped on him when he went to sleep last night as a payback.

Honestly though, it's been nice having mom and dad home on weekends. it lets me consolidate my weavelishness into 2 days instead of dragging it out over more days like when dad was home a couple of days during the week. I think he's happier too.

Well I'm going to pop out of here. Think I'll go take a nap in the window.

I miss you all and I hope to be on here more if dad allows it.

Peace out!

Roo

Roo!!

Hi everyone!
Ol Roo back in the saddle for a new post. A lot has happened over the past couple of months so I'll get everyone caught up on the comings and gongs of everyone's favorite feline!

First of all it was another spectacular finish for Panther Racing at the 500. Gentleman Dan Wheldon brought home the vast underdog car home in second place. Anyone have that in their brackets? Didn't think so!

In early June mom and dad went on vacation leaving us here to fend for ourselves. Uncle Joe came over and fed us. Misses Hiney sucked up to him but you know how Roo is; I wasn't having any of it and cold shouldered him the whole way. He had some kids with him but Roo was Mr. Ice! Sadly, when mom and dad got back I was only able to cold shoulder them for about one night and then I was happy to sit on their laps and get my tail pulls! I'm really a pushover!

Then a couple of weeks ago Misses Hiney brought a flea in from the garage and it was all over. I've had 3 baths in the last 2 weeks and we have been locked in the back room twice while mom and dad bug bombed the house. It's a real hassle and I am ready to kick Misses Hiney's ass!

Well I better run. I hear mom coming and for all I know she may be getting ready to give me another bath!

Love and peace to all!

Roo

What's Up?

Well the suitcases are out, there are clothes in them and mom and dad are acting weird. They haven't said anything to me and Misses Hiney yet, but it has all the feel of them leaving. With that in mind Ol Roo is going into full mean mode until they 'fess up as to what is going on.

If they are going I am going on all night 'reigns of terror', tipping my bowl over, eating Misses Hiney's food and NOT sitting on mom's lap. They can't just up and leave without notice. I mean, if they are leaving who is taking care of us? Ginny, who I suspect doesn't like us. Uncle Joe? He's nice and all but we really need fed twice a day and he only comes once.

I guess we'll muddle through, but until I knwo for sure what is happening I am in offensive mode!

Take that dad!

Spring has sprung!

Hi gang!

Ol' Roo here. Been a while and honestly I don't have much to report. I have been feeling better and if I could just kick my habit of chewing up plastic I just might make it. The vet keeps calling and checking on me and they seem surprised I am doing okay. I guess they aren't that optimistic about my survival!

Not much else new here. I've been shunning dad lately just to test him. he's getting worried that I am mad at him but I'm really not. He's such a goober!

Well I'm going to pop out of here for a bit. It's supposed to be rainy again today so I may just find a place to curl up and sleep until mom and dad get home. Tonight I'm sure they'll make me watch American Idol. They always make me sit in the same place for some reason. I guess they're both goobers!

Peace out!

I'm Back!

Hi everyone!!

Thanks dad for the post, but to paraphrase Mr. Sam, rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!

Seriously though, I'm glad to be feeling better and want to thank all of you for your wishes and prayers.

It took me almost 2 weeks, but I am, as dad says, back to my old weevilish self. I think I'm back to 100%. I don't think the doctors even thought I had much of a chance. They called and were surprised to hear I was getting better a few days after I got home. Each day it has been better! But it was nip and tuck for a while there.

When I was at the hospital I couldn't eat or drink. I felt hungry when I got home, but I still couldn't really eat. I tried to jump up on the table to my bowl and couldn't make it and fell into a cooler. Dad started to cry. He picked me up and put me on the table, but I was scared. Dad thought I was a goner. Anyway, the next day I started eating some more. Dad was home and he brought some food to me and a water bowl and I started to eat and drink some. By the next day I was eating pretty well, but I was still pretty weak.

That went on for a couple of days, but by the weekend I was noticeably better. Then a few days ago I started my old habit of trying to take Misses Hiney's food and dad knew I was okay.

We don't know how long I'll be okay, but it's good to be back for now!

Ona side note, Misses Hiney sucks! She must have sensed I was sick and was trying to take advantage of me. She kept hissing and growling at me and even attacking me knowing damn well I couldn't fight back. The meanie-bo-beanie was guarding the kitchen like a freakin' gargoyle. So every time mom or dad would go to the kitchen I went with them using them as an escort past her. Now that I'm back she leaves me alone, but I will not forget this!

Anyway, thanks again for your prayers! It's great to be back! Talk to you soon!

Roo :(

Hey everyone,
Roo's dad here. Mr. Pup is very sick and is at the doctor right now. Sadly, they aren't giving us much encouragement. He has some pretty serious internal problems.

Roo hadn't eaten since Thursday evening. He tends to eat plastic and when he gets too much it plugs him up and he may skip a meal. This time though he skipped three and we decided it was time to get him in.

I'm praying he pulls through so he can get back on here and post about his weevelish ways soon.

Thanks for all of you who read this blog. I know Roo appreciates it.

Happy New Year!

Good morning everyone from America's Cat!

Hope everyone had a great holiday season. I did get to feeling better after a few days and was able to enjoy Christmas even though the only thing I got was fed an extra meal on both Christmas and Christmas Eve. Dad even extended my "get on the nice list" window to New Years Eve but I guess I was just too weevelish to make it.

Speaking of dad, he is such a dork. Now he's walking around the house calling me el gato negro and saying things like "The villagers had a name for him, 'El Gato Negro', and they were scared". If anyone can tell me what that means I would appreciate it. It's probably some gibberish or new nickname he has for me, but he says it with some kind of accent.

Nothing really new around here. Mom got a Snuggie for Christmas and she has kind of let me take over her old throw. I put it with the comforter on the floor and I have a really nice and warm bed. I even let Misses Hiney lay her head on it once in a while! See, I am a sweetheart!

Of course the end of the NFL season was not kind to Roo. None of my teams made it and dad has been crowing about his big stupid Colts. He'll get his soon enough.

That's it for now. Roo better head into the living room and find a nice warm spot to hang out for the day. Peace and love to all!

Kinda Blue

That's Roo.

I'm a little sick these days. Like a dumbass I had to eat some of the tinsel from the tree and now I am plugged up and am in agony. Dad says he is going to take me outside and juice me and I am just about ready to let him.

I know, I know I', not supposed to eat plastic but I just love to chew on it. Well this time I must have had a little too much. Oh, I know it'll pass, but dang I am miserable.

I just hope I am feeling better for Christmas. I've been really good lately and I expect I'm going to be nicely rewarded for it!

Love you all and pass the Ex-Lax!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

The Puparoo here to wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season! I've been doing well, even if dad has been trying to hold me too much. I know he means well, but I'll go to him when I need attention!

As for Thanksgiving I was able to snag a little turkey so that was good! Mom and dad went out helping the less fortunate and then went and ate. Me and Misses Hiney toughed it out here as usual, but all was cool.

This week the weather turned colder so I have been trying to keep warm. Dad makes fun of me and says I have a cat suit on so I should be warm. Hello dad, it's my natural fur and NOT a cat suit. What a dolt.

Football hasn't been to good for me this season. My Jags are making a push and look like they'll make the playoffs. The Panthers and Lions suck. Dad's Colts are doing great and he loves to rub it in. He's working 4 days and off 3 so I get an extra day of abuse.

Mom's been doing okay. We've developed a good routine on the new recliner and I have adjusted well to the new furniture. Misses Hiney has as well.

Well I'm going to pop out of here as I here dad rattling some food bowls. I'm famished today. So everyone heve a great couple of weeks and I'll be back soon!

Howdy y'all

Hi gang!

Nothing really important today. Just hadn't popped in for a while so I thought I'd say hi and share a picture dad gave me from him and mom's vacation.

It was from a team he hates so I was surprised he even took it, let alone gave me a copy, but thanks dad!

Like I said, nothing really new here. The baseball playoffs are here, but there are no cat teams so I don't really care. As for football, once again my cat teams aren't doing so well. The Lions finally got a win, but the Panthers are dreadful and even the damn Colts beat my Jags.

Well enjoy the nice fall weather we are having. I'm going to go in and make sure mom and dad get up before they want!

Love you all!

Roo

REVIEW-New Furniture

Well the good news is that Roo's mom was correct. We are not moving. Instead our old furniture has been replaced with new, but in Roo's mind, not necessarily better, furniture.

As I stated in my last post, the recliner was still here, but it even left the next day. Mom and dad took it somewhere. A little while later some me brought a new recliner, divan and love seat. They certainly looked pretty. They are a beautiful black! But for Roo, that is the end of what is good about them.

For one thing they are made of some kind of animal hide. Roo does not approve of that unless of course it is dog! THey seem slick and a little colder to Roo. Plus the arms on the davenport and love seat are much lower and Roo can't "ride high" any more.

As for the recliner it is substantially smaller and a month in Roo has yet to find his "spot" when sitting with mom. I used to hang out on the foot part of the recliner but this one is much smaller so I have been sitting on mom's lap or half on her lap and half on an arm. Either way, Roo isn't crazy about it.

So a month or so in, call Roo less than tickled pink about the new furniture. I guess I'll assimilate, but I miss the old stuff.

Love you all,

Rooney

Moving?

Last night, soon after dinner, sister Amy came by. I didn't think anything about it as she often comes by and we play our little game where I run and hide and she tries to find me and pick me up. Yesterday was no exception, or so I thought.

Amy did something strange. Her and mom removed all of the cushions from the two divans and took them outside. I didn't see where they took them but I found it odd. Figuring they would bring them back in I decided to just hang out and not get too worked up about it. The funny thing is that they never brought them back in and in fact, Amy came back in and sat on one of the divan's without cushions. Well ol' Roo's curiosity was, to say the least, piqued.

A little while later dad came in and brought in a folding chair and sat in it. I thought this was really strange, but he is sucha dork that God only knows what he'll do next. What did happen next still has your host perplexed.

Some man came to the house. Everyone seemed to know him and I may have seen him before, but as I usually run from company I wasn't sure. This guy and dad then proceeded to take the 2 davenports out of the house pretty much the same as the cushions. Curiosity had just given way to fear.

Eventually Amy and that man left but the divan's didn't come back in. Mom's recliner is still here, but dad was in his folding chair until they left the house. Roo didn't want them to leave without him, but they asked me to be good so I figured they would be back. But I sat on the table watching the door intently until they came back. Well they did come back, but they didn't have our furniture.

I just got up a little bit ago and it still isn't here. Now I am worried. Did Amy and that man steal our furniture? Roo reads the news, was the furniture reprocessed from a alack of payment. Things are tough all over. Or, are we moving?

Roo is no spring chicken any more and a move may be more than he can handle. I have vowed to stay here no matter what. Hopefully our furniture will come back today as I miss my arm on the divan to "ride high" as dad puts it.

For now though, color me worried!

Happy Fourth of July

A big Happy Fourth of July from your patriotic cat friend!

Hope everyone is having a great day grilling out, visiting friends and family and watching fireworks! It's kind of rainy here in Indy but mom and dad are heading out to see AMy, Greg and the snot noses tonight. They went to a party yesterday sinec dad had to work today (he-he).

Ol Roo is going to hang out here and me and Misses Hiney will probably watch the race and watch some fireworks when it gets dark.

As usual, remember all those who fought or are fighting for our freedom! Things may not be so great right now, but we American's are a hardy breed and we'll persevere!

Have a great day and I'll talk to you all anon!

Sad Days

Hi everyone,

Wow, it's beena long time since I have been on here. For those of you who hang on my every word I apologize!

Ol Roo has been somewhat in the doghouse lately. And those of you who know me, know how much I don't like anything to do with dogs. Yes, Roo has been having some urinary issues and mom and dad are none to happy with me. Sometimes I just get confuesd and don't pee in my poophut. I make it there most of the time, but like I said, sometimes I get confuesd. Mom thinks my kidneys are failing because I am gaining weight, but I don't think so. Dad says I need juiced, whatever that means. He never did the dignostics on my new food, but I think in the long run it is heavier per piece and I am getting more food than before.

Anyway, that's been my life lately. I'm trying to do good, but it's hard!

Not a whole lot else is going on. How about that Panther Racing at the 500? A solid second place and if 3 was in jail like he should be, we would have won! We'll get them next year.

I'm going to pop out of here for now. I'll try to be a better poster in the future.

Peace and love to all but Pepper!

Great Days!

Hi gang!

Ol Roo here. Hope everyone is enjoying the nicer weather we have been having. Even your fave cat has got spring fever and what a great day I had today!

First I got up early and walked on mom until she got up and fed me. Dad was on te sofa butI couldn't make him get up. He whined that his shoulder hurt. Wuss! Then later today I got to go out in the garage and I had a ball.

Dad has a workbench out there and I like to jump up on it and just hang out, but I was feeling adventurous today and found a spot higher up and it was way up by a window so I took me a little nap in the nice warm sunshine.

Then when the sun started to go down I started wandering around and lo and behold the sunroof was open on dad's car. Naturally I jumped in and promptly got in the back window deck and took another nap. Dad came out and found me but I got out before he had a chance to drive off with me.

Finally, a stupid bird team got the number 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, but my Pitt Panthers were number 2 so that made Roo feel good.

All in all it was a real red letter day for me!!!

Well that's about it for now. I hope you all have a great week and I'll speak at you soon!

Lazing On A Sunny Morning!

Hi gang!

Well ol Roo is just hanging out this morning. I had a nice bowl of food (and a little of Misses Hiney's) and just have been laying around relaxing. Dad came in and picked me up earlier and then he rubbed my belly for me so it is all good today for the Puparoo!

I really don't have much else. The "pee bomb" hasn't gone off for a few days so that makes everyone happy!

I guess I'll just chill out until race time and then root for Jeff Burton in the Cat car.

Y'all have a doozy!

Roo
